Vertiports

The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC is carrying out comprehensive work to introduce amendments and additions to the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as to existing regulatory legal acts governing the operation of vertiports.

A vertiport is an aerodrome or a designated area on a structure intended, fully or partially, for the arrival, departure, and movement of aircraft capable of performing vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) operations. The emergence of vertiports is driven by the rapid development of advanced air mobility technologies, the need to establish modern infrastructure to support their operation, and the global trend toward introducing environmentally friendly and efficient transportation solutions in urban and intercity logistics.

These measures are being implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and are aimed at forming a modern and effective regulatory framework for the development of air mobility infrastructure.

The main objective of this work is to ensure proper legal regulation of the establishment, certification, operation, and development of vertiports, as well as to enhance the safety of air mobility infrastructure facilities in line with the best international practices and standards.

The implementation of these initiatives will support the further sustainable development of the industry, create conditions for integrating innovative technologies into the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and improve the quality of aviation services provided.
