Plans to launch direct air services on the Hong Kong–Almaty–Hong Kong route were announced today during a meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, John Lee, according to the Civil Aviation Committee, cited by Kazinform.

Starting June 1, LOT Polish Airlines began operating regular flights on the Almaty–Warsaw route. Flights are operated four times per week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

By 2040, 20% of global cargo transportation is expected to be concentrated on the Europe–Asia route.
