Radio technical support of flights is a complex of radio technical means and aviation telecommunications, auxiliary and technological equipment (means of autonomous power supply, communication lines, control) designed to provide communication systems, navigation and monitoring of radio technical support of flights, organizational, technical and other activities carried out by the services of operation of radio equipment and communications in civil aviation organizations, and also by other services, using in their activities the means of radio technical support of flights and communications, ensuring flight safety and production activities of civil aviation organizations together with other services of the civil aviation enterprise, as well as other enterprises and organizations in order to ensure the safety and regularity of aircraft flights in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Department of Air Navigation controls and supervises the radio engineering support of flights and aviation telecommunications in accordance with Articles 10-2 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Use of the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Aviation Activities". At the same time, they are guided by the rules of radio technical support of flights and aviation telecommunications in civil aviation developed in accordance with subparagraph 41-17) of paragraph 1 of Article 14 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 15, 2010 "On the Use of the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and aviation activities", which determine the procedure for radio technical support of flights and aviation telecommunications in civil aviation.
