Recognition of a Type Certificate
A civil aircraft is registered in the State Register of Civil Aircraft of the Republic of Kazakhstan provided there is recognition of the type certificate as valid by the authorized organization in the field of civil aviation, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 43 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Use of Air Space of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Aviation Activity» .
A type certificate issued by a foreign state authority certifying aircraft is recognized by the authorized organization in the field of civil aviation in the manner established by the Rules for Certification and Issuance of a Type Certificate, in accordance with paragraph 6 of Article 43 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On the Use of the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Aviation Activities» .
Issuing a recognition of a Type Certificate
To obtain a Type Certificate Recognition Decision, the applicant shall submit an application via the electronic document management system or through the Unified Platform for Reception and Processing of All Citizens’ Appeals «E-otinish»:Единая платформа приема и обработки всех обращений граждан
The service is provided free of charge.
To obtain type certificate recognition, the applicant shall attach the following documents to the application:
- The current version of the Type Certificate;
- The current version of the Type Certificate Data Sheet.
The service review period is 15 (fifteen) working days in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 76 of the Administrative Procedural and Process Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Code).
Note: In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 76 of the Code, the term of an administrative procedure initiated on the basis of an application may be extended by a reasoned decision of the head of the administrative body or his/her deputy for a reasonable period, but for no more than two months, due to the need to establish factual circumstances relevant for the correct consideration of the administrative case. The participant of the administrative procedure shall be notified thereof within three working days from the date of the extension.
Type certificate recognition is issued for an indefinite term (is perpetual).
Note: The type certificate recognition issued by the authorized civil aviation organization shall become invalid (shall cease to be valid) if the recognized type certificate is suspended or revoked by the foreign state that issued the said type certificate.

The type certificate recognition procedure is generally carried out in the following sequence:
- Review of the application and attached documents;
- Assessment of the attached documents for compliance with paragraph 19 of the Rules for Certification and Issuance of a Type Certificate;
- Decision-making based on the assessment results;
- Preparation of the Type Certificate Recognition Decision or a reasoned refusal.
