The evacuation of Kazakh citizens from Middle Eastern countries is ongoing, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reports. “As of March 7, since the escalation in the region began, 27 flights have been operated to Kazakhstan, evacuating 4,659 passengers,” the statement said.

The headquarters includes representatives of the Civil Aviation Committee, Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC, Kazaeronavigatsia RSE, as well as Air Astana, FlyArystan, SCAT, and VietJet Kazakhstan (Qazaq Air).

Kazakhstan has introduced a full ban on flights over and near the airspace of Iran, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon due to the situation in the Middle East, the Civil Aviation Committee said, Kazinform reports.
