RUNWAY SAFETY PROGRAMME IN CIVIL AVIATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

The Runway Safety Programme is a national document developed by the competent authority in the field of civil aviation, aimed at establishing a unified and systematic approach to the management of runway safety risks.

The Programme defines:

  • the objectives and principles of runway safety;
  • the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders;
  • the organization and operation of Local Runway Safety Teams (LRST);
  • approaches to the development of national and local runway safety plans;
  • effective operational practices aimed at preventing runway-related risks.

Runway safety plan for civil aviation of the Republic Kazakhstan 2025-2029

In 2025, the competent authority developed and approved the Runway Safety Action Plan.

The objective of the Plan is to enhance the level of runway safety through the improvement of safety measures implemented by all involved stakeholders.

The Plan defines:

  • specific actions to ensure runway safety;
  • timelines for their implementation within the activities of the relevant organizations.

The document serves as a reference for civil aviation organizations, enabling the identification of vulnerabilities and the establishment of priority actions, taking into account the scale and specific nature of their operations.

Based on the Runway Safety Action Plan of the Civil Aviation of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2025–2029, airports develop and implement local runway safety action plans.
