The number of domestic flights in Kazakhstan has risen to 890 per week

06/10/2026

The country's domestic flight network is expanding; currently, there are approximately 890 flights per week connecting cities across the country via around sixty routes—up from about 630 three years ago. This year, new flights were added from Astana to Almaty, Aktau, Aktobe, and Urdzhar, as well as from Almaty to Aktau and Urdzhar. Regional air connectivity is also being restored: the Arkalyk airport resumed operations in August, launching subsidized flights to Astana, Almaty, and Kostanay. At the same time, airport infrastructure is being upgraded. The runway in Pavlodar has been modernized, and plans are in place to complete the construction of new airports in Zaisan, Katon-Karagai, and the Kenderli resort area by the end of the year.
