Risk management
The AAK has approved the document “Risk Management Manual” (AAK-SMS-M.0656), which defines the objectives, tasks, principles, structure, and functions of the risk management system in the field of flight safety. It also describes a structured approach to identifying, assessing, and responding to risks through the application of control and mitigation measures aimed at minimizing the consequences of identified hazards.
The objectives of the AAK in risk management are as follows:
- to establish a classification of risks that affect the civil aviation sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to ensure their identification, assessment, and control;
- to develop and continuously improve unified approaches, principles, and methods for managing identified risks aimed at reducing or eliminating the consequences of hazards (threats) associated with such risks;
- to minimize potential consequences (losses) from risks to an acceptable level and to ensure the operational resilience of both the AAK and the aviation industry of Kazakhstan;
- to prevent the occurrence of risks that could hinder the achievement of the established flight safety objectives and to minimize the risks identified in the Kazakhstan Aviation Safety Plan for 2024–2027;
- to respond effectively to unforeseen situations and significant changes and to manage them appropriately;
- to ensure the preservation of AAK’s strong reputation;
- and to provide reasonable assurance to stakeholders that the AAK effectively manages risks.
