A meeting between Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev and ICAO expert team project coordinator Ms. Louise STOLS took place at the Ministry of Transport, marking the launch of work on the development of the Civil Aviation Master Plan of Kazakhstan (CAMP) until 2050.
During the discussion, the Vice Minister emphasized that the CAMP being developed by ICAO experts will serve as a strategic guideline for the qualitative and balanced development of Kazakhstan’s entire civil aviation system, taking into account the best international practices. He also noted that the development of civil aviation is currently a national priority. Large-scale modernization of airport infrastructure is underway, and domestic airlines are annually renewing and expanding their fleets with modern Western‑manufactured aircraft. In addition, general aviation and the unmanned aviation sector continue to grow, while approaches supporting the sustainable development of the industry are being actively introduced. The Project Coordinator became acquainted with the activities of the Civil Aviation Committee and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, as well as with the priorities and key development indicators of the industry.
As part of her visit, Ms. Louise STOLS will meet with key industry stakeholders, review existing strategic documents, and support the preparation of the CAMP work plan.
The development of CAMP by ICAO experts represents an independent and professional expert assessment that will enable the formation of a long‑term, realistic, and competitive model for the development of Kazakhstan’s civil aviation sector.
