15/06/2026

As part of the implementation of the President’s directive on the development of Alatau, a Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, which included Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev, participated in the International Forum Alatau City Roadshow held in Shenzhen.

During the event, Talgat Lastayev delivered a presentation titled “Logistics and Transport Connectivity of Alatau City,” highlighting Kazakhstan’s strategic priorities in transport and logistics development, as well as the prospects of Alatau City as a future international transportation hub.

Located at the crossroads of the major East–West and North–South transport corridors, Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its role as a key transit link across Eurasia. The country is traversed by 12 international transport corridors, while transit cargo volumes reached 39 million tonnes in 2025, representing an 18% increase compared with the previous year.

Kazakhstan is currently implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, including the construction of 800 kilometers of new railway lines, the modernization of more than 2,600 kilometers of existing railways, and the development of over 3,300 kilometers of road transit corridors. At the same time, digital solutions are being introduced to simplify cross-border transportation and improve logistics efficiency.

The development concept for Alatau City envisions the creation of a transport and logistics hub featuring terminal infrastructure and an industrial park, the expansion of railway connectivity, and the integration of the city into international transport routes.

The forum also showcased initiatives aimed at advancing the aviation sector and introducing innovative transportation technologies, including urban air mobility projects, unmanned aerial systems, and digital freight and transport management platforms.

The comprehensive development of transport infrastructure, combined with the adoption of innovative technologies, is expected to lay the foundation for transforming Alatau City into a modern international transport and logistics center.
