Two New Aircraft Added to SCAT Airlines Fleet

02/04/2026

SCAT Airlines has taken delivery of two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The fleet expansion is directly linked to the airline’s ongoing route network development and the strengthening of its existing flight programs.

The aircraft are brand new and were delivered directly from Boeing’s manufacturing facility in Seattle, USA. Notably, this is the first time the airline has received two aircraft simultaneously.

In 2026, SCAT Airlines launched new routes from Shymkent to Karaganda, Kostanay, Bishkek, Novosibirsk, Saint Petersburg, and Tyumen, as well as a direct service from Astana to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The newly delivered Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will support these operations, providing greater flexibility in flight planning and facilitating further expansion of the airline’s network.

The aircraft will also be deployed to support the development of a hub based at Shymkent Airport, which is emerging as one of the key growth points of Kazakhstan’s route network. Strengthening Shymkent as a major aviation hub, along with the expansion of destinations, is creating new opportunities for passengers both within Kazakhstan and internationally.

Efforts to expand the national fleet remain ongoing and are under continuous supervision of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
