On December 1, 2020, on the day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first scheduled flight between Turkestan and Nur-Sultan was operated by the first domestic low-coster Fly Arystan.
168 tickets were sold for Nur-Sultan – Turkestan flight (93% load), and 161 tickets were sold for the Turkestan – Nur-Sultan flight dated December 1, 2020.
Daily flights at first will be operated by Kazakh airlines Fly Arystan, Qazaq Air and SCAT from new international airport in Turkestan to Nur-Sultan, Almaty and in the future, as the spiritual center of the Turkic world, Turkestan will be connected to other regional centers of Kazakhstan.
The flights to Istanbul and Dubai are planned to be operated as the first international flights. In the future, as the industry recovers, flights to other cities will be launched, including Moscow, Baku, Samarkand and other cities.
In addition, Turkestan airport will operate under open sky programme for foreign airlines, which will make it attractive for expanding the geography of flights and help attract the flow of foreign tourists.
