The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan has welcomed a delegation of experts from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Cargo Recognition Team for an assessment visit to Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the visit is to review Kazakhstan's national air cargo security system. Over the course of several days, the TSA experts will familiarize themselves with the activities of the national aviation regulator and visit the international airports of Astana and Almaty to examine the security measures and procedures applied to the handling and transportation of air cargo.

The first day of the visit began with a working meeting attended by representatives of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) Program, the Civil Aviation Committee, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan presented an overview of its regulatory activities, the current state of the country's aviation sector, and the key priorities for the continued development of the national aviation security system. Particular attention was given to strengthening state oversight, enhancing aviation security measures, and aligning Kazakhstan's regulatory framework with international standards and best practices.

The participants also discussed opportunities for further cooperation between the competent authorities of Kazakhstan and the United States, including the development of air cargo security, the exchange of expertise, the enhancement of the regulatory framework, and the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the security of international air transport.

Following the meeting, the TSA experts conducted a focused review of the activities of the Aviation Security Department of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. The delegation examined the applicable regulatory framework, internal procedures, oversight mechanisms, and operational processes related to the security of air cargo operations.

The visit represents an important step in the ongoing preparations for the launch of direct air services between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States. The U.S. side continues to provide comprehensive technical and expert support to Kazakhstan in further strengthening its national aviation security system and ensuring compliance with international standards. The outcomes of the visit are expected to contribute to closer bilateral cooperation, increased mutual confidence between the aviation authorities of both countries, and the creation of the necessary conditions for the future launch of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States.
