Search and rescue flight support exercises held in Ulytau region

22/05/2025

Scheduled search and rescue flight support exercises were successfully conducted in the Ulytau region. The primary objective was to practice coordinated actions among all relevant services in the event of an aviation accident and to test emergency response procedures under conditions as close to real-life scenarios as possible.

The training involved personnel and units from the Department of Emergency Situations (DES) of the city of Zhezkazgan and the Ulytau region, dispatchers from the Search and Rescue Coordination Center (SRCC) of the RSE “Kazaeronavigatsia,” the Command Center for Operational Management and Strategic Planning (KTsOUiSP) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, staff from the Zhezkazgan branch of “Kazaeronavigatsia,” as well as medical personnel and resources from the Ulytau regional health department.

According to the scenario, the simulated crash site - with four mock victims - was located over 100 kilometers from the city of Zhezkazgan. During the exercise, teams carried out search and identification operations, evacuated the victims, administered first aid, and transported them to nearby medical facilities.

These exercises served as an effective platform to assess the readiness and coordination of all involved entities, evaluate the effectiveness of communication systems, measure response times, and test the overall level of staff preparedness.

The organizers noted the high level of coordination demonstrated during the event and emphasized the importance of conducting such training on a regular basis to ensure the safety and reliability of air traffic operations in the region.
