28/11/2019

From November 30, 2019, SCAT air company starts operating flights on the routes Almaty-Medina (on Wednesdays) and Almaty-Jeddah (on Saturdays) on Boeing-757.

The opening of new regular flights to one of the popular destinations from our country will give a new impetus to the development of relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The new air route will allow representatives of religious and business communities, as well as tourist groups to plan trips with the most convenient schedule, saving time.

According to the current agreement between the aviation authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the designated airlines of both parties have the right to perform 4 passenger flights and 3 cargo scheduled flights per week between the countries. The permitted cities for KSA carriers are Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and Karaganda, and for Kazakhstan carriers – Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina and Dammam.

Since 2016 the "SCAT" air company performs irregular flights to Saudi Arabia to transport Kazakhstan’s pilgrims during the Hajj season. Since the beginning of 2019, the air company has launched direct international flights from the capital of Kazakhstan to Prague, Ulaanbaatar, Moscow and Tokyo.
