Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saltanat Tompieva, participated online in the International Civil Aviation Forum organized by the Institute of International Civil Aviation of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The forum brought together more than 200 participants, including representatives of several international organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as well as world-class aviation experts from across Europe and Asia. Among them were the Chair of the Forum and former ICAO Secretary General Dr. Liu Fang, Ms. Bai Wenli, Ms. Bai Wenli, Deputy Director General Department of International Affairs, Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) Ms. Poppy Khoza, Director General of Civil Aviation South Africa’s and former President of the 41st ICAO Assembly, Mr. Norazman Bin Mahmud, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), and others.
In her speech, Saltanat Tompieva highlighted the key directions of Kazakhstan’s civil aviation development and emphasized the country’s commitment to global goals aimed at building a safe and sustainable international air transport system.
“Kazakhstan’s goal is to become an international aviation hub by leveraging its geographic advantage as an air bridge between Asia and Europe. To achieve this, special attention is given to the modernization of infrastructure, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the enhancement of safety standards in full compliance with ICAO requirements and global best practices,” - stressed the Chairman of the CAC.
The International Civil Aviation Forum in Shanghai is regarded as one of Asia’s leading aviation events, bringing together key global industry players to discuss strategies for development, innovation, and the strengthening of international cooperation.
