Resumption of flights to Shymkent, Aktau, Uralsk, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Zaisan and Urjar

In accordance with the decision of the Interdepartmental Commission to prevent the occurrence and spread of coronavirus infection on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, flights from Nur-Sultan and Almaty to Shymkent, Aktau, Uralsk, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Zaisan and Urjar are resumed starting as of May 13, 2020.

Airlines plan to operate the flights as per the schedule published on the official websites of Kazakh air carriers.The flights will be operated under increased sanitary safety measures established by the Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

  • Use of personal protective equipment (masks, gloves)

  • Temperature check, physical distancing before boarding the aircraft

  • Intensive disinfection of airports and aircrafts.

Due to increasing demand for air travel in the summer, the number of flights between the cities will be established by the airlines at their own discretion taking into account the demand, sanitary and quarantine measures of the Ministry of Health.

To date, due to the recommendation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, flights to Atyrau are restricted. Kazakhstan airlines have been instructed by the relevant Ministry not to sell air tickets to destinations restricted for flights without a decision of Interdepartmental Commission.
