Representatives of the Aviation administration of Kazakhstan Participated in the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan Study Group Meeting in Montreal

The Seventeenth Meeting of the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan Study Group (GASP-SG/17), held in Montreal, Canada, brought together representatives of States, international organizations, and the aviation industry.

During the meeting, representatives of States, international organizations, and the aviation industry discussed the development of the new edition of the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan for the 2029–2031 period, as well as current global aviation safety risks and challenges.

The meeting included a review of global aviation safety trends, analytical information presented by ICAO, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF). Discussions also focused on enhancing State safety oversight systems, risk management approaches, and the effectiveness of state safety programmes. Attention was given to the identification of global safety risks, the development of methodologies for determining priority safety issues, and the establishment of ICAO’s strategic safety goals for the upcoming planning period.

Participation in the meeting provided an opportunity to gain insight into international best practices, exchange experiences with representatives of civil aviation authorities and international organizations as well as contribute to the development of ICAO’s global aviation safety policy.

Kazakhstan’s participation in GASP-SG/17 reaffirms the country’s commitment to continuously improving its aviation safety system, implementing ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), and strengthening international cooperation in support of the safe and sustainable development of civil aviation.
