A regular meeting of the Working (Expert) Group on Aviation Safety under the Council of Heads of Authorised Transport Authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States was held at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Moscow.
The event was attended by representatives of line ministries of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. The AAK delegation included Dauletbek Аdilbekuly, Head of the Dangerous Goods Division of the Facilitation Department, and Ardak Bedelbaev, Senior Aviation Inspector of the Aviation Security Department.
The meeting summarised the results of the work of the EEC Expert Group for 2023 and considered a number of issues in the field of aviation security of the EEC Member States, including monitoring of threats and risk facts, preparation for ICAO audits and new challenges arising from the development of technology and changes in the world situation.
As a result of the meeting, the objectives of the ECE AB EWG for 2024 were outlined, taking into account the improvement of security measures and adaptation to changing threats.
In this regard, the group participants were given an opportunity to visit the innovative aviation training centre at Domodedovo Airport, created in accordance with the best practices using advanced technologies. During the visit, innovative training methods in the form of simulations and virtual drills were demonstrated, enabling aviation security personnel to better understand potential threats, learn the necessary security skills and procedures faster and more effectively.
Recommendations and innovative approaches to aviation personnel training discussed during the meeting and the visit to Domodedovo ATC will be used by the AAК Aviation Security Department staff for possible implementation in national NAPs to improve aviation security standards.
