Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with the management of Singapore’s Changi Airport Group. The parties discussed the prospects for developing Astana as a major aviation center and the potential for cooperation with one of the world’s leading airport management companies.
The meeting highlighted the sustained growth of Kazakhstan’s civil aviation sector. The country’s international flight network is expanding, passenger traffic is increasing, and the size of the national aircraft fleet continues to grow.
Kazakhstan’s geographic location offers significant potential for attracting transit traffic between Asia and Europe.
Particular attention was paid to Astana’s role in the further development of the aviation sector. The capital is viewed as a promising aviation hub capable of establishing new international connections and strengthening Kazakhstan’s transit potential.
Representatives of Changi Airport Group shared insights into the performance of Changi Airport and the company’s international projects. They also outlined areas where the group’s accumulated experience and expertise could be applied in Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in continuing dialogue on promising areas of cooperation.
