Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov introduced the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Transport, Asel Zhanassova, to the staff of the Ministry of Transport following the corresponding Decree of the Head of State.
The Head of Government thanked Nurlan Sauranbayev for his contribution to the development of the country's transport sector and highlighted Asel Zhanassova's extensive experience. Over the years, she has headed the Zerde National Holding and Kazpost JSC, and served as Vice Minister of Trade and Integration, Advisor to the President, and Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the President.
Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that the sector faces ambitious tasks outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his State-of-the-Nation Address, "Key Priorities of Kazakhstan in a New Historical Era."
"The President has declared next year the Year of Large-Scale Construction, including transport infrastructure. The tasks are clear. Given the country's geographic location, we must maximize our potential. Major projects across all transport sectors are scheduled for completion next year. It is necessary to ensure their high-quality and timely execution," the Prime Minister stated.
The key priorities for the Ministry of Transport include ensuring high standards in the construction of local and national highways, developing roadside infrastructure, completing the reconstruction of border checkpoints by 2027, and overall strengthening Kazakhstan's status as a pivotal transport and logistics hub in Eurasia.
