Multimodal Transport Forum of the Organization of Turkic States Held in Tashkent

13/11/2025

On November 12, 2025, the Multimodal Transport Forum of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Tashkent.

The event brought together senior officials from the transport authorities of the member countries, including OTS Secretary-General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as well as representatives of several international organizations, to discuss key issues in the field of transport development.

Kazakhstan was represented by Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev, who delivered a report on the prospects for the development of multimodal transportation in the country.

The head of the Kazakh delegation emphasized the strategic importance of the entry into force of the OTS Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport. In addition, the Vice Minister outlined the measures being taken to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the terminal infrastructure network, and to reduce administrative barriers in road transport.

Talgat Lastayev called on all Forum participants to join efforts in developing multimodal transportation within the framework of the OTS Transport Connectivity Programme for 2023–2027 (here in after – the Programme).

Kazakhstan’s participation in the Forum reaffirms its commitment to strengthening connectivity within the Turkic world and to developing its transit potential. The implementation of the Programme will lay the foundation for establishing an integrated and efficient logistics network among the OTS member states.
