An industry seminar was held in Astana, focusing on effective aerodrome pavement management and ensuring their proper operational condition.

The event was organized with the participation of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan in cooperation with international experts. Gianfranco Battiato, President of RODECO Group, shared his experience with Kazakhstani participants. The seminar was attended by heads and specialists of aerodrome services from Kazakhstan’s airports, as well as representatives of профильных organizations in the aviation sector.

Modern approaches to the assessment and monitoring of aerodrome pavement conditions were reviewed, including the use of advanced diagnostic technologies. Special attention was given to the implementation of Pavement Management Systems (PMS), which help improve the efficiency of aerodrome infrastructure operations.

Participants discussed innovative pavement cleaning technologies, methods to enhance surface friction, and solutions aimed at extending the service life of asphalt and cement concrete pavements.

A separate session was devoted to issues related to the determination and publication of the Pavement Classification Rating (PCR) in accordance with ICAO requirements.

The exchange of advanced international experience in aerodrome pavement operations contributes to improving the qualifications of aerodrome service specialists at Kazakhstan’s airports, the adoption of modern technologies, and compliance with international standards.
