Nurlan Sauranbayev reviewed the modernization of Shymkent International Airport
As part of a working visit to the city of Shymkent, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Sauranbayev, visited Shymkent International Airport to review the progress of the project for the construction of a second runway.
The project also предусматривает the development of the necessary infrastructure, including taxiways, emergency rescue stations, utility networks, perimeter fencing, and the installation of ICAO Category III airfield lighting systems.
It was noted that the construction of the second runway is one of the key infrastructure projects being implemented as part of Kazakhstan’s airport hub development strategy.
The project is aimed at increasing the airport’s capacity, expanding its ability to accommodate modern aircraft types, and strengthening the region’s transit and logistics potential.
Following the inspection, the Minister instructed that all planned works be completed on time and in full compliance with quality standards.
