Specialists of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK) participated in several high-level events held at the ICAO European and North Atlantic Regional Office (EUR/NAT) in Paris, France. These included the 9th Meeting of the Regional Expert Safety Group (EASPG RESG/09), the 8th Meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Plan Working Group (RESG RASP WG/08), and the Workshop on AI for safety data processing and analysis.
The AI workshop brought together experts from aviation authorities, international organizations, and industry stakeholders, including EASA, FAA, IATA, EUROCONTROL, and KOCA. Participants discussed the integration of AI tools into aviation safety processes, highlighting taxonomy development, standards and practical applications. Leading aviation authorities such as the FAA (USA) and KOCA (Republic of Korea) presented their experience in applying AI to improve the quality of safety data analysis.
Following the workshop, the AAK delegation attended the EASPG RESG/09 and RESG RASP WG/08 meetings, where the implementation of the European Regional Aviation Safety Plan (EUR RASP) for 2024 was discussed and priority areas for aviation safety for 2026-2028 were set. As part of the EUR RASP initiative, AAK specialists actively collaborate with ICAO and regional aviation authorities. In this way, during the session, Kazakhstan presented the results of the Quality Management System (QMS) Assessment Tool testing, demonstrating the progress achieved in improving and harmonizing quality assurance and compliance practices among air operators in Kazakhstan. The QMS Assessment Tool was developed by the Regional Expert Safety Group with direct involvement of AAK specialists. As part of efforts to improve the quality of safety oversight in the country, this tool is also planned to be tested with other civil aviation organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
