11/03/2022

On March 9, 2022, on behalf of the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairbek Uskenbayev, an inspection of the condition of the runway (RWY) was carried out at Aktobe Airport.

The inspection was attended by representatives of the Akimat of the Aktobe region, the Civil Aviation Committee, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, Aliya Moldagulova International Airport and Air Astana, SCAT, Qazaq Air.

During the inspection, defects in the condition of the runway, peeling of airfield plates, chips, and peeling of mastic were found in places.

Considering the non-compliance with the established requirements, as well as the priority in terms of flight safety for citizens, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan decided to suspend the operation of the Aktobe airfield runway from March 17 of this year until the violations are eliminated.

In turn, the akimat of the Aktobe region is ready to finance the replacement of airfield plates and repair work as soon as possible.

The airport operator draws up a defect inspection report with the identification of plates that require priority replacement, and develops an action plan for the current repair of the airfield runway.

It should be noted that the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, established as part of the implementation of the European model of regulation of civil aviation, consistently adheres to compliance with stringent flight safety requirements.

The Administration conducts technical control and supervision over compliance with the requirements established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the use of airspace and aviation activities.
