Key Facilitation Issues in International Air Transport reviewed at the AAK

A meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Facilitation of International Air Transport was held at JSC Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, attended by representatives of government authorities, international airports, and airlines of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The discussion focused on the verification of electronic identity documents, aircraft inspections by the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the procedures for handling inadmisible persons into Kazakhstan. Significant progress was achieved in optimizing the placement of security screening and border control checkpoints at Shymkent and Atyrau airports, reflecting their infrastructure capabilities. The active involvement of government authorities, international organizations, airports, and airlines facilitated constructive dialogue and coordinated solutions.

Following the meeting, Air Astana and SCAT Airlines submitted proposals to improve existing procedures and achieve an optimal level of facilitation in line with national legislation on aviation security and flight safety. Specific assignments were issued with deadlines for implementation.

JSC Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan acts as the executive body of the Commission coordinating interdepartmental cooperation and supporting the development of practical, coordinated solutions that enhance the efficiency, safety, and quality of international air transport.

The meetings of the Commission provide an essential platform for substantive dialogue between civil aviation stakeholders and government authorities on key facilitation matters.
