Kazakhstan’s Aviation Authorities Participate in ICAO EUR/NAT-DGCA/2025 Meeting

The Directors General Meeting of the European and North Atlantic ICAO EUR/NAT-DGCA/2025 Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is currently taking place in Paris. The EUR/NAT region comprises 56 States out of ICAO’s 193 Member States.

Kazakhstan is represented at the meeting by a delegation led by Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting’s agenda focuses on key issues concerning the advancement of civil aviation in the region. Topics under discussion include aviation training and capacity building, sustainable development, strengthened regional coordination and partnerships, gender equality promotion, and other priority areas.

Participants are being presented with updates on regional activities and ICAO EUR/NAT program priorities, which support flight safety, enhanced air navigation capacity and efficiency, aviation security, and the ratification of international air law instruments.

In addition, the meeting addresses the ICAO Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) strategic framework and relevant regional initiatives within the EUR/NAT region, including the outcomes of the 2025 Aviation Training and Skills Workshop.

On the sidelines of the event, the Kazakh delegation is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with representatives of international organizations and attend the 55th International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, as part of the “Industry and Innovation Day” organized by the French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC).

Background:

The Paris Air Show in Le Bourget is one of the largest and oldest aerospace exhibitions in the world. Held biennially since 1924 at Le Bourget Airport (12 km northeast of Paris), the event features cutting-edge innovations from leading global companies in aircraft and engine manufacturing, space and defense technologies, and airport infrastructure. Kazakhstan first participated in the Paris Air Show in 2013, showcasing an Embraer 190 aircraft operated by Air Astana, named in honor of renowned actress Amina Umurzakova.
