A Kazakh delegation is taking part in the 48th meeting of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Language Proficiency Requirements Implementation Task Force (LPRI TF), currently being held in Paris.

More than 60 experts from over 20 countries are participating in the meeting, along with representatives of EUROCONTROL, IFATCA, and IFALPA. Kazakhstan is represented by delegates from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, SCAT Airlines, KazAeronavigation, and the Civil Aviation Academy. Representing the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan are Adilzhan Sultanov, Director of the Licensing Department, and senior aviation inspector Madiyar Karazhanov.

During the event, Kazakh specialists presented three reports devoted to maintaining aviation English language proficiency, the impact of the human factor, and improving assessment procedures.

Air Astana also presented its internally developed and implemented English Proficiency Testing System (EPTS), demonstrating the high level of professional expertise of Kazakh specialists in the field of language assessment.

The meeting also featured a draft radiotelephony communication manual for ground personnel prepared with the participation of Kazakh representatives. In addition, participants discussed approaches to developing English language assessment criteria for specialists involved in flight search-and-rescue operations.

Currently, five testing organizations operate in Kazakhstan using the TEA, TEAC, TEC, ELPAC, and EPTS systems.

The participation of Kazakh specialists in the work of the LPRI TF reflects Kazakhstan’s consistent efforts to develop aviation language training systems and implement ICAO international standards.
