On 31 August 2021 at the regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Appearance and Spread of Coronavirus Infection in the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the Interdepartmental Commission) the issue of increasing the number of flights between Kazakhstan and Turkey was brought up.
So, beginning from mid-September 2021 (Air Astana from 17 September, Turkish Airlines from 25 September) Air Astana and Turkish Airlines plan to increase the frequency of flights on route Almaty-Istanbul from 2 to 3 flights a week.
Also, from 22 September 2021 SCAT Airlines plans to commence flights on Aktobe – Istanbul route with a frequency of 2 flights a week.
Further increase of flights to Turkey will depend on the epidemiological situation, decisions of the Interagency Commission and decisions of relevant governmental bodies of Turkey.
The flights will be operated in strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and in accordance with the published schedule on the airlines’ website.
