Kazakhstan – ICAO: Priorities of Growing Cooperation

On the sidelines of the 42nd Session of t he International Civil Aviation Organization Assembly in Montreal, a meeting took place between Saltanat Tompiyeva , Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee (CAA) - Kazakhstan and Salvatore Sciacchitano , President of the ICAO Council. The parties discussed Kazakhstan’s priorities in civil aviation: further harmonization with SARPs, improving the level of flight safety and aviation security, developing international connectivity and transit potential, as well as the sustainable agenda SAF and emissions reduction. Saltanat Tompiyeva noted that for the first time Kazakhstan submitted 33 aviation initiatives at the ICAO Assembly session. Our country consistently implements the best international standards and is focused on practical projects that will enhance safety and service quality. Salvatore Sciacchitano highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s progress in the development of civil aviation and assured continued support from ICAO. An agreement was reached to continue substantive coordination with ICAO on projects for the near future, including ICAO regional initiatives.
