At a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Occurrence and Spread of Coronavirus Infection in the Republic of Kazakhstan, it was approved to increase flights between Kazakhstan and Russia.

Thus, the number of regular flights between the two countries will be increased from 11 to 33 flights a week on the routes Nur-Sultan – Moscow, Almaty – Moscow, Shymkent – Moscow and Karaganda – Moscow.

On the Kazakhstan side, the flights will be operated by Kazakhstan’s Air Astana and SCAT airlines.

In order to commence additional scheduled flights between Kazakhstan and Russia a decision of the Operational Staff for prevention of introduction and spread of the new coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation is required.

The Civil Aviation Committee of the MIIR RK together with the Department of State Policy in the Field of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation) are working on this issue.

In case of a positive decision of the Russian side, flights will be operated in strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and in accordance with the published schedule on the airlines’ website.
