In Tashkent, on the sidelines of the "China – Central Asia" (C5+1) Civil Aviation Cooperation Working Group Conference, bilateral negotiations were held between the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The Kazakh delegation was led by Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Uzbek side was headed by Jamoliddin Nazarov, Head of the Air Transport Authority of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the further expansion of air services, an increase in the frequency of regular flights, and the enhancement of air travel accessibility between the major cities of the two countries.
An agreement was reached to increase the number of permitted frequencies to 60 flights per week for each of the two routes: Almaty – Tashkent and Astana – Tashkent.
The parties also agreed to increase the number of permitted frequencies on other routes between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from 14 to 20 flights per week.
The implementation of these agreements will expand capacity on the most demanded destinations.
The growth in passenger traffic between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, along with the intensification of business and tourist exchanges, contributes to a rising demand for air travel and creates additional opportunities to strengthen the transport connectivity between the two nations.
