On August 26, 2026, a signing ceremony for the Air Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The signing of the Agreement strengthens the existing regulatory framework in the field of civil aviation and creates additional opportunities for the development of regular air services between the two countries.

The ceremony was attended by Talgat Lastayev, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Suleiman bin Ahmed Albassam, Acting President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Agreement will contribute to the further development of trade, economic and business ties, promote investment, and strengthen tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Under the new arrangements, the number of authorized regular flights has been increased from 28 to 70 per week.

Based on the agreements reached, airlines are planning to launch direct scheduled flights between Astana and Riyadh, as well as increase the number of routes connecting Kazakhstan with other cities in Saudi Arabia.
