On the sidelines of the ICAO EUR/NAT-DGCA/2025 Directors General Meeting, Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Damien Cazé, Director General of the French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC), signed a Cooperation Agreement in the Field of Civil Aviation between the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Urban and Rural Planning and Decentralization of the French Republic.
The agreement aims to reinforce and expand bilateral cooperation in civil aviation, particularly in aligning with the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Both parties expressed their shared commitment to fostering a safe, efficient, and sustainable civil aviation system by prioritizing key areas such as flight safety, air traffic and airspace management, environmental protection—including the promotion of sustainable aviation fuels—airport development, economic regulation, legal frameworks, and training.
To support these objectives, the agreement envisions active information and expertise exchange on methodologies, training programs, and technical practices, as well as the joint organization of workshops, conferences, and practical training sessions. It also includes provisions for staff exchanges to foster closer collaboration and mutual capacity building.
