Kazakhstan and Brazil Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in the Aviation Sector

Kazakhstan - Brazil rou ndtable was held in Astana with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mauro Vieira. The event served as an important platform for discussing prospects for expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as strengthening collaboration in transport and civil aviation. As part of the roundtable, a bilateral meeting took place between Saltanat Tompiyeva , Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee (CAA) - Kazakhstan , and Joao Pedro Taborda. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the aviation industry, including the development of service infrastructure, aircraft maintenance capabilities, and the expansion of cooperation with Kazakhstan’s airlines. Special attention was given to further strengthening the partnership with Embraer, whose aircraft are already in operation in Kazakhstan. “Kazakhstan adheres to high aviation safety standards, as confirmed by International Civil Aviation Organization audit assessments. We are committed to maintaining and further enhancing these standards and view Embraer as an important partner in achieving this goal,” said S. Tompiyeva. The Head of the Civil Aviation Committee also highlighted the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan t o establish a modern aviation training center as an important step toward developing regional aviation expertise and training pilots and technical personnel. She welcomed the possibility of cooperation with Embraer within the framework of this initiative.
