Meetings of the Kazakhstan–France Business Council and the 16th Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation were held in Paris, with the participation of Talgat Lastaev, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A key highlight was the folder-exchange ceremony for the Memorandum providing for the delivery of Airbus A320neo aircraft in the format of “25 initial units with an option for an additional 25.”
During Vice Minister Lastaev’s meeting with Airbus Vice President Charbel Youzkatli, the parties discussed the delivery timeline for the aircraft scheduled for 2031, as well as the possibility of accelerating these deliveries.
In addition, the Vice Minister raised the issues of establishing a joint aviation training center with Airbus and arranging aircraft leasing mechanisms.
As part of the Intergovernmental Commission, further cooperation with international partners was also discussed: with TAV Airports — on the modernization of Kazakhstan’s airport infrastructure, and with Alstom — in the area of industrial cooperation.
To improve transport connectivity between the two countries, the parties considered the resumption of the Paris–Astana route and the opening of air service on the Shymkent–Nice route.
