Information on the results of an additional competition to some subsidized air routes

In connection with the temporary suspension of subsidized flights on the Nur-Sultan-Tokyo route due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided to reallocate part of the funds in the amount of 385.1 million tenge for flights to domestic tourist destinations in accordance with current legislation. In this regard, in order to meet the demand for transportation to domestic tourism destinations, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an additional competition for subsidized air routes Nur-Sultan – Balkhash, Nur-Sultan – Usharal and Almaty – Zhezkazgan. SCAT, Qazaq Air, Southern Sky, and Zhezkazgan Air have submitted applications to participate in the competition.

According to the results of the competition, Qazaq Air was selected as the winner for all three air routes. The airline will operate flights on the Nur-Sultan – Balkhash with a frequency of 4 times per week, the cost is 9,000 tenge (the number of flights will increase to 10 flights per week), on the Nur-Sultan – Usharal with a frequency of 4 times per week, the cost is 16,000 tenge (the number of flights will increase to 11 flights per week), on the Almaty – Zhezkazgan with a frequency of 2 times per week, the cost is 20,000 tenge (the number of flights will increase to 4 flights per week).  Flights will be operated on a Bombardier with a capacity of 76 to 86 people.
