ICASM International Congress on Aviation and Space Medicine

The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan took part in the 2nd International ICASM Congress on Aviation and Space Medicine, held in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Congress, held at the Aula Magna of the central campus of the University of Lisbon, brought together a wide range of specialists in aviation and aerospace medicine. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in these fields, exchange experiences, foster further cooperation among participating countries, and discuss new perspectives on disease progression and medical certification requirements for aviation personnel. And the AАK was presented by the Director of the Department of Aviation Medicine-Chief Aviation Inspector, Ph.D. Medicine Almira Berdongarova.

Special attention was given to presentations on aviation physiology and pharmacology, clinical aviation, stress and depression among aviation personnel. A large section was dedicated to clinical cardiology, infectious diseases, the role of public health, and search and rescue operations for victims. The training methods for flight attendants in administering first aid to victims were also highlighted.

Additionally, the congress program covered topics from the upcoming 70th International Congress on Aviation and Space Medicine (ICASM 2024), the 8th European Congress on Aerospace Medicine (ECAM 2024), the 7th Scientific Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Aerospace Medicine, the 10th Conference on Aerospace Medicine of the Portuguese Air Force, the 3rd Joint Conference of the Aerospace Medicine Societies of Portugal and Brazil, and the Conferences of the Iberian Aerospace Medicine Societies, including the Portuguese and Spanish Aerospace Medicine Societies.

The Congress was accredited as an event for advanced training in aviation and space medicine.
