On the sidelines of the Directors General Meeting of the ICAO European and North Atlantic ICAO EUR/NAT-DGCA/2025 Office, taking place in Paris, France, Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar and ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Director Nicolas Rallo.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and ICAO, including support for initiatives aimed at the development and modernization of the global aviation system. They also reviewed the outcomes of recent ICAO official events hosted in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Juan Carlos Salazar expressed his appreciation for the ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan's civil aviation sector and reaffirmed ICAO’s support for the country’s efforts to enhance flight and aviation safety, expand public access to air transport, and promote the liberalization of the air transportation market – a crucial step for Kazakhstan as a landlocked country.
In turn, Saltanat Tompiyeva emphasized Kazakhstan’s strong commitment as an active ICAO Member State to continued enhancement of its national aviation safety system in line with international standards.
She also announced Kazakhstan’s plans to sign a Joint Declaration on the Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP) during the upcoming visit of ICAO Council President Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano to Kazakhstan in July 2025.
The Chairman of the Committee extended an invitation to Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Juan Carlos Salazar to visit Kazakhstan.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepening collaboration in the field of civil aviation.
