On September 2, a meeting was held between Talgat Lastayev, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a team of auditors from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
During the meeting, the parties discussed the upcoming audit under the USAP-CMA (Universal Security Audit Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach) program, which is being conducted in Kazakhstan from September 2 to 14 by a team of four international ICAO experts.
The audit will include a comprehensive inspection of the country's aviation security system. The assessment will include the international airports of Astana and Almaty, as well as Kazakhstani airlines. The experts will pay special attention to the compliance of national legislation with international standards and ICAO recommendations.
The purpose of the audit is to assess the effectiveness of current measures to ensure aviation security and identify areas for further improvement. The audit is an important stage in the development of civil aviation in Kazakhstan and confirms the country's commitment to comply with high international standards in the field of aviation security. At the end of the meeting, Vice Minister Talgat Lastayev wished the auditors successful work and noted that the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan fully support the ICAO standards and requirements being implemented in Kazakhstan.
"I am confident that the results of the audit will contribute to further strengthening the aviation security system of Kazakhstan and increasing the trust of the international aviation community," Talgat Lastayev emphasized.
The current ICAO aviation security audit rate in the Republic of Kazakhstan is 83%. This indicator is planned to be improved.
