The meeting took place on the sidelines of the VI summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which is taking place in Astana.

The President of Kazakhstan thanked the Vietnamese side for active participation in the work of the CICA and noted the high level of fruitful cooperation between the countries.

The interlocutors stressed the successful development of trade and economic cooperation, the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties, the opening of flights between Kazakhstan and Vietnam.

The existing potential for building up contacts in the trade, tourism, agricultural, transport, logistics and financial sectors was also noted.
