The Head of Air Astana presented the work plan for 2020 in the industry

During the workshop on the development of the national air carrier the results of the airline's operating activities, plans to expand domestic and international route network, as well as updating the air fleet were discussed.

Starting from June 2020 Air Astana will start operating Almaty-Paris route three times a week on the long-range Airbus A321LR, acquired in October 2019. Currently, Air Astana is the first operator of this type of aircraft in the CIS.

Air Astana President Peter Foster spoke about the ongoing work in the segment of low-cost transportation and the development of the FlyArystan low-cost carrier, who is launching their first international flight to Moscow. Since the foundation of the company, FlyArystan has sold over 600 thousand tickets, more than half of them at a price below 10 thousand tenge.

The Minister noted the positive dynamics in the volume of low-cost airlines and highlighted the importance of further reducing the cost of air tickets, making them available to a wide range of population, as well as the expansion of the regional route network.

According to the information of the air carrier, by the end of 2020, the FlyArystan fleet is planned to expand to 10 Airbus A320 aircraft that enables them to launch operations into the airports of Karaganda and Aktobe. Thus, the route network of low-cost airlines will increase to 40 destinations.
