18/04/2025

The annual Safety RoadShow seminar is an initiative by Airbus Helicopters aimed at promoting a flight safety culture among aviation operators in Kazakhstan. The event was organized by Airbus Helicopters Kazakhstan Engineering LLP.

The objective of the seminar is to support the implementation of international aviation safety standards and to raise awareness among aviation personnel about current risks and effective mitigation strategies.

The seminar brought together over 30 participants, including flight instructors, engineers, specialists from Airbus Helicopters Kazakhstan Engineering, and representatives of Kazakhstan’s leading aviation organizations, such as the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, Kazaviaspas JSC, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, RSE “State Air Company “Berkut”, South Oil LLP, Balapan Aviation Training Center, AutoTechCenter-Asia LLP, AeroExpert LLP, and others.

Opening remarks were delivered by Себастьян Сен Шабо, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters Kazakhstan Engineering, and Guldana Bazhiyeva, Head of the Quality and Flight Safety Department. Both speakers emphasized that a strong safety culture is essential to reducing aviation incidents. Saint Chabaud illustrated this point with the example of British Airways Flight 5390, highlighting the role of human factors and the importance of a systematic approach to safety.

The keynote presentation titled “Recent Amendments in the Regulatory Framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Aviation Personnel Training and Licensing” was delivered by Adilzhan Sultanov, Director of the Licensing Department of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.

The seminar covered topics such as Loss of Control at Take-off, Reckless Flying, strengthening safety culture through the Safety Portal and Safety Cube: From Reporting to Real-Time Risk Management, the Practical Problem Solving (PPS) methodology, maintenance errors, and the impact of human factors in working with avionics and electrical systems.

Events like this play a vital role in strengthening the professional aviation community, where safety is not just a standard but a core value. Sharing best practices, discussing real-life cases, and introducing effective tools all contribute to establishing a sustainable safety culture across all levels of the industry.
