The first ICAO Symposium on Advanced Air Mobility (ICAO's First Advanced Air Mobility Symposium - AAM 2024) was held in Montreal at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization, which was attended by a Kazakh delegation consisting of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ICAO and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.
The symposium was attended by about 1,400 participants from 87 countries, including leading experts from international organizations and aviation industry entities. In particular, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), heads of aviation authorities, representatives of the International Airports Council (ACI), the leadership of NASA, Airbus, Boeing concerns, educational institutions, etc.
The event was opened by the President of the ICAO Council, Salvatore Sciaccitano, who stressed the importance and potential of advanced air mobility, which can change aviation through innovative approaches using electric aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems and modern air traffic control systems.
For his part, ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar called on the participants to cooperate in regulating activities in the field of AAM, building infrastructure and collecting information.
All participants of the Symposium confirmed the practical importance and usefulness of this event, which will contribute to the development and improvement of aircraft systems and the global aviation system.
The event included a number of panel sessions, including on the UN Sustainable Development Project, vertical takeoffs and landings of unmanned vehicles, maintenance of the airmobile system, integration and optimization of infrastructure and transport, etc.
In addition, the participants discussed issues of regulation and creation of an integrated modern aviation ecosystem, the importance of this area for global economic development, as well as the main areas of cooperation in this area.
