The Kazakh delegation took part in the first Global Air Cargo Summit organized by ICAO, which focused on the role of regulators and the development of unified standards in the field of air cargo transportation. The event, held in Antalya (Türkiye), brought together leading international organizations, civil aviation authorities, airlines, logistics companies, and airports.
Speakers included experts from ICAO, IATA, Airbus, Boeing, as well as representatives of aviation authorities, industry associations, and the business sector.
Key areas of development discussed included: the recognition of cargo transportation as a full-fledged part of the aviation system, challenges related to e-commerce and digital logistics, automation and the implementation of end-to-end IT solutions, integration between aviation and customs authorities, safety assurance, the use of unmanned technologies, as well as sustainability and the green transition.
The Kazakh delegation included representatives of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, the airports of Astana, Almaty, and Aktobe, as well as the RSE “Kazaeronavigatsia”.
Kazakhstan's key priorities in the air cargo market include the digital transformation of the cargo sector, development of a regulatory framework for unmanned solutions, strengthening cooperation between aviation and customs authorities, promoting sustainability and green approaches in logistics, and attracting international air carriers to Kazakh airports.
Participation in the summit enabled the alignment of national approaches with ICAO’s global regulatory agenda, facilitated experience sharing, discussions on current industry development issues, and the establishment of working contacts with the professional community.
