On February 6, 2025, in Astana, at the premises of JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" (AAK), a final meeting was held dedicated to the issues of passenger service, baggage and cargo handling at airports in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by representatives of the CAC of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, AAK, airports and airlines of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting discussed the introduction of new legislative changes aimed at improving the quality of service and protecting passenger rights, the results of AAK inspections in 2024 on ground handling of passengers, baggage and cargo, as well as plans for 2025.
The issue of airports' preparation for the upcoming audit under the ICAO Universal Security Audit Program in the area of facilitation, including the presentation of updated programs and final protocols of meetings on facilitation for 2024, was also raised.
Reports on the operational effectiveness of the new passenger terminals at Almaty, Kyzylorda, and Shymkent Airports were presented by representatives of the respective airport operators.
In 2024, domestic airlines carried 14.3 million passengers (9% more than in 2023). The number of passengers served at Kazakhstan's airports amounted to 29.7 million people (14% more than in 2023). Against the backdrop of growing passenger traffic, the transportation of passengers with ensuring flight safety and aviation security requires constant improvement of technological processes, maintenance and updating of infrastructure, as well as regular training of employees involved in passenger service, baggage and cargo handling. In this regard, the participants from the AAK presented the main types of violations that were identified by aviation inspectors of the authorized organization during inspections as part of the control over ground handling in the field of passenger service, baggage and cargo handling.
During the meeting, the Director General of JSC "Aktau International Airport" presented the results of the pilot project "BEST AIRPORT SERVICE" at Aktau Airport, aimed at improving the quality of passenger service. Aktau Airport called on other airports to join the project to improve the quality of passenger service at airports.
At the end of the meeting, timed to coincide with the Day of Civil Aviation Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an awards ceremony was held for distinguished employees of the passenger service organization of airports and airlines of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For their contribution and achievements in the development of the aviation industry, as well as for their dedication, they were awarded letters of gratitude from the Chairman of the Committee of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Director General of JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan ".
