Expansion of cooperation with Boeing

17/11/2022

Kairbek Uskenbayev, Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic Kazakhstan met with Monte Frazier, the Vice President of Boeing for Sales and Marketing in Russia and CIS countries, and Mario Antonio Ebcim, Boeing's Director of Strategy and Market Development in Eurasia, with the participation of Talgat Lastayev, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee.
The parties discussed future cooperation between Kazakhstan and Boeing during the meeting. The parties noted the positive dynamics of cooperation as a result of the visit of a Kazakhstani delegation to Seattle (USA) in April 2022, which was organized on the instructions of Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Kairbek Uskenbayev and with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United States.
As a result, the airline Air Astana signed a contract to purchase three Boeing-787-9 "Dreamliners." The liners are expected to join the carrier's fleet in the first half of 2025.
JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" together with Boeing held an Airline Planning Workshop. The event took place from November 14 to 18, 2022 in Astana. The seminar covered highly sought-after topics such as: Airline strategies and business models, Market demand, Network and fleet planning, Aircraft performance, Airline economics, Value analysis and Aviation industry sustainability. Among the modules covered in the seminar are strategy and competition, fleet planning and revenue management, aircraft economics, and others. Around 50 representatives from the Civil Aviation Committee, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC, Samruk-Kazyna SWF JSC, Air Astana (Fly Arystan), Qazaq Air, SCAT airlines of Kazakhstan, and the airports of Astana, Almaty, and Aktau attended the seminar.
The parties agreed to continue working to expand cooperation and find new promising projects between Kazakhstan and the Boeing Company as a result of the meeting.
Remember that work has been done since the beginning of this year to increase technical capacity in preparation for the upcoming International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) for the launch of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States.
