Expansion of civil aviation cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU

On September 23, 2022, Talgat Lastayev, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee, met with Johannes Baur, Charge d'affaires of the European Union Mission in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of civil aviation cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, such as the continuation of integration processes, increasing the number of flights, and expanding flight geography.

So, currently, regular international flights from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the European Union are carried out on 8 routes with a frequency of 28 flights per week to 6 EU countries (the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Italy, Greece, and the United Kingdom).At the same time, the European Union delegation invited Kazakhstan's aviation authorities to participate in the Kazakh-European Economic Business Forum, which is scheduled for the spring of 2023 and will cover civil aviation development issues.


Furthermore, the parties discussed issues related to the upcoming 41st Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will be held in Montreal (Canada) from September 27 to October 7, 2022.


The meeting was conducted in a professional, constructive, and friendly environment.
