A seminar on the safety workshop “Safety Risk Management and Safety Promotion” was held at the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC, where experts from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) shared their experience with representatives of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as safety experts from airlines, airports, and air navigation service providers.
This seminar was held within the framework of trilateral cooperation with EASA and the Irish aviation authorities on the provision of technical assistance. Within the framework of this cooperation, work is being carried out to improve the standards and procedures for the safety of air transport flights in Kazakhstan in accordance with the standards of the European Union (EU) in the field of civil aviation.
The seminar discussed safety risk management processes, legal framework for occurrence reporting, requirements for mandatory, voluntary and confidential reporting, data storage in the European Central Repository managed by the European Commission, an overview of the ECCAIRS 2 portal, and safety data management at EASA. EU Safety Risk Management Process issues presented by leading EASA experts (Aigars KRASTIŅŠ - Senior Aviation Safety Risk Manager, Jekaterina JANSONE, Junior Safety Data Manager).
In terms of safety promotion, the leading EASA experts (Yngvi YNGVASON - Safety Promotion Coordinator, Antonio GONZALEZ-GOMEZ - Safety Promotion Business Partner) shared their experience in role of safety promotion in improving safety and communicating with industry stakeholders as part of an Integrated Risk Management approach and developing different types of safety promotion content that consider the interest of the audience and local culture.
